October's Group Night meeting will feature a presentation on 'The Science of Being Seen' by Kevin Williams of Survival Skills Motorcycle Training. Kevin is an advanced instructor and widely experienced as both an author of several motorcycling books and as a lead rider, regularly leading parties of bikers, both in this country and abroad. For more background information please see web site is http://www.survivalskills.co.uk

The talk will include discussion and advice on conspicuity - how effective is high-vis? It will also covers phenomena such as 'motion camouflage' and 'looming', as well as tips on what you can do to be seen without the need to cover yourself head to foot in luminous yellow!

We will be in our usual venue - the Essex Barn @ Channels Golf Club, Pratts Farm Lane East, Little Waltham, Chelmsford, Essex, CM3 3PT.

Potential new members are very welcome to attend as guests, so if you are considering taking some post-test training or have already passed an advanced test and would like to find out more about EAMG and our extensive range of training options & social activities then why not come along as a guest to check us out?

We do not have a big waiting list for new members waiting to be allocated for training and are able to offer both 1-to-1 and group training options for Associate and Full members.

Paul Reynolds & I will be covering the New Members table, which has been very active over recent months.

There will be the usual excellent selection of food and drinks available.

Regards,

John

Thank you to Kevin Williams for a thought provoking and interesting presentation yesterday evening. Judging by the number of questions raised following the talk this was a highly relevant subject.

If you want to find out more about Kevin's website & blog, etc then please visit: http://www.survivalskills.co.uk or http://www.facebook.com/survivalskills

Alternatively if you are interested in attending the Kent FireBike Team's free 3 hour Biker Down course (which covers: Accident Scene Management; First Aid for Motorcyclists; and The Science of Being Seen) then e-mail: bikerdown@kent-fire-uk.org or visit: http://www.bikerdown.info or search for 'Kent Fire Bike' on Facebook. Attendees will even receive a free first aid kit!

Regards,

John
