Sunday May 4th 2008.
A ride of 140 miles (in France) for all members, on the roads of the Pas-de-Calais Region.
For those who wish to ride on "the wrong side of the road" for the first time, this is a fine opportunity to do so. we use the marker system so no one is obliged to ride outside of their comfort zone and, in fact, you are encouraged to stay within it.
For everybody it is a pleasant day across the water encompassing a stop mid-morning in a mediaeval market town, and lunch and re-fuels in the town of Etaples, on the West coast.

We travel via Eurotunnel from Folkesrone to Calais and return.
You are responsible for booking your place on the train.
The Eurotunnel Website is easy to navigate(I can do it, it must be easy)
Booking details as follows:

Depart Folkestone May 4th 08.20hrs Train
Depart Calais May 4th 18.20hrs Train (Local time)
Price to-day £29.00(8/2/08)The price rises the nearer it gets to departure.

For anyone wishing to join me for the ride to Folkestone, I shall rendevous at the Coach Park at Thurrock Services, on the A13, around 06.00hrs , leaving at 06.20hrs. There are refreshments available at Folkestone terminal and we shall re-fuel and grab a quick tea/coffee/croissant at the Calais terminal Services before hitting the road (no, not literally Moriarty)

Come and enjoy. :D :D :D

I just thought I'd check to see if you were doing a pre ride for it this year :?:
(Ok, I know it's probably just wishful thinking :P  )

Hi Geoff

I have booked the crossing and will probably meet up with you at the terminal as usual. Thanks for a different day on Sunday last week.

Paul,

I wasn't going to do a pre-ride but hey! give me a date and if anyone else is up for it we'll do it.

Phil, I'll give it some thought ( a weekend that is)

To confirm what Guy wrote, yep, open to all members, full or associate.

Geoff P.

Keep the rubber on the road.

Ok mate, with the train costing approx £26 return for an overnight stay and a Hotel room about 60euro's for a twin it would be a reasonably cheap weekend in said France....

Cheers :D

Most weekends are ok with me as long as it doesn't clash with the Super Sausage or the Fish and Chip runs. But honestly, don't go to any trouble on my behalf, it's just that I really enjoyed last year's one :D
