I have attached Route Plan and Info for this ride for those who are able to access it. I amended the GPS version of the route on Sunday 6th April with a slight change around Etaples.

Keep the rubber on the road

Right everyone, yes especially ratonabike, can have a good laugh.

Now I'm well aware that the days when I organised social rides and wrote down the route, went down the road and had it photocopied a few times & then dished them out have long since gone but....

I don't have Garmin??????? or sat nav. So have tried to download the first route and I all I get is..... "To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it...........".

Bloody technology.

Anyone out there who can explain to me what do do in really SIMPLE language.

Kind regards

Col

I am afraid Colin that you are excluded from the club. Without Garmin software you can not open the file. Maybe a paper copy will be available ?

To Open the Day trip Calais-Cassel-Calais.wks file you will need microsoft works or a converter.

You could also try Open office ( http://www.openoffice.org )
I believe that will open Microsoft works documents.

The Chocolate factory is as good as any and always has good stocks.

It's signposted off the E40 J4 just over the Border on the way to Odenburg.
If you want to make a night of it there is the GRD close by as well.

rooms are basic but comfy and the beer is great :)

Taken the car to France a few times - are there any legal requirements such as spare bulbs, first aid kit, triangles etc. that I need to worry about.

Insurance and breakdown cover are obvious.

Thanks

Hi Jeff, I am all booked for the trip, but things are not looking good as I have dropped a valve on the GS. This resulting in a holed piston and a totaled cylinder head. It nearly made the end of the full member training ride.
BMW do not have any cylinder heads in the country and all rest on Tuesday to see how quick Cannons can get the bits. I am not impressed at the though of running in again.
So if I am not at Thurrock, don't wait.
Have a good day.
Paul
