Really enjoyed that Richard. In fact we all enjoyed it so much we were going to club together to pay for your new bike - - - but then we thought - - Nah! We (mostly) all made it back despite the efforts of Clive to sabotage the marking, he secretly told me it was Suzzies fault and I believe him.

Thanks for the good company and back markers.

I need to get my post in early, before I get the blame for too much. Firstly thanks Richard for a great day out and to the back-markers who successfully had markers to collect.

As Dave has already mentioned Clive (and Suzy) did lead 10 of us slightly astray at A143, having realised his mistake he turned round....just as i was about to follow him, Ian waves me on frantically assuring me (in the front of the group) all is well! Eventually we turn back to arrive at Stradishall too late for tea! The ride continued to St Ives and back to a petrol station somewhere on A505. I am now back marker, well i was for about 50 yards! Apparently we always turn left after leaving the garage (Richard I thought you knew how bad my directions were)....So Doug (and Maz) head off up the A505, me being a trusting sole followed.....some time later we realise our error and turn back to the garage and take the left turn we should have. At this point I should thank George for checking the route with Richard within my hearing and I assured Doug I knew the way..haha..well I surprised myself, Newport, Debden, Thaxted, then the rest was easy. but no markers along the way.

Back at McDonalds...Richard Nash...being first marker dropped tells me John Tipper had said there was no one at garage and he should go....I've rambled enough, I only did 40 miles more than I should have and the sun shone :D :D :D

Another great day with good company. Great route Richard and our little diversion only sent me along another new a brilliant road. Thanks to Richard and back markers for a great day!

Thank you again Richard.

I am slowly beginning to understand that these rides are a little like Persian carpets, ie that nothing other than God is perfect, so there has always to be a small error deliberately woven into the pattern.

I had a very nice time and everyone was great company.

Ian

I'll add my thanks too Richard, thoroughly enjoyed the ride, detours and all.
The sun shone, the roads were dry, the company excellent.

I have some pictures, which I am going to send to Chris to post on the site.

Who's up for writing a ride report?

I've done the last couple, must be someone elses turn?
Don't all rush at once, I can see you all sloping off.

Actually Jill, as you seem to have already started??? :?:
