There doesn't seem to be anything on this weekend ???
If enough replies appear under this post I will run a ride to Fleet Hargate in Lincolnshire this Sunday. About a 220 mile round trip starting from Sainsburys, Boreham. 9 for 9.30 to one really big transport cafe which serves edible food.

Any takers ?

Any clues as to what Fleet Hargate holds for the unsuspecting motorcyclist ?

I can't see a beach !

I'm tempted.
Have to check with her indoors and, if she sees good progress with my weekend task of painting the hallway, I might be allowed out.
Mind you, the weather forecast, for Midsummers Day....90% chance of rain.

Very well put Simon but you didn't mention Lincolnshire people have only one eye in the middle or sometimes three. The weather (depending which station you watch) reports showers in the morning clearing as the day goes on. I feel if I wait for summer to arrive and the rain to stop, November will be upon us.

Mike, get painting.

Stu, no beach.

I would also like to visit the 'Beam Engine' that used to pump the fens dry, if I can find it ? Simon ?

Your wish is my command :)
THE EARLIEST AND FINEST EXAMPLE OF A LAND DRAINAGE STEAM ENGINE ERECTED IN 1831 AT STRETHAM, CAMBRIDGESHIRE, UK

A visit to the Stretham Old Engine is a must for people glad to quit the usual tourist trail and willing to indulge in a bit of Fenland history and industrial archeology. Close to the village of Stretham near Ely this land drainage pumping station (now disused) is scheduled as an Ancient Monument and has been restored by the Stretham Engine Trust. It contains a fine steam powered double-acting rotative beam engine, and is the last surviving complete example of its kind in the Fens. The Trust has leased the pumping station for one hundred years from the Waterbeach Internal Drainage Board.

Is this the one?????
