Unfortunately I have to withdraw this escapade, much to my disappointment. :(

Anyone requiring a Campsite booking, I have one.

Dear Spider and Geoff,

I'll take and pay for the booking if it's not yet gone.

Thank you Spider.

So, just to check, I don't have to ring anyone at all about anything, I just turn up with everyone else on night one, pitch my tent next to everyone else and pay the lady £3 (or whatever it turns out to be).

On night two, I claim to be Geoff and pitch wherever, order an English breakfast for the morning, pay the other lady, say thank you nicely and then trundle back to Essex with everyone else.

I then probably have to give Geoff back whatever he's already paid when I see him next.

Have I got that right?

Actually, I'm really looking forward to it, and I'm assuming the weather can't possibly be as bad as when we went up a couple of 'summers' ago to the same sort of area.

I pondered this, revisited it this morning and thought yeah! So I've spent some time looking at the maps etc and now have just found I'm on holiday with the family. Doh!

Have fun !

Dear Geoff,

I'm intending to go away for the weekend with Spider (- again - actually for the fourth time, now I think about it, and the weather's never been good once. We once even shared a room in France for a night {you were there}, which was not as unsettling as I thought it might be). Compared to that, the risks involved in impersonating you are as nought.

By the way, which site did you book for and how much will I owe you for the pitch when we next meet?

Ian

Hi Spider

Have reserved both campsites and looking forward to the trip.

It sounds like there is still limited availability at the sites, so people can still book.

Many thanks

Mick
