Weather forecast for Sunday looks a bit depressing. Temperature at 09:00 in Chelmsford 3C (a degree warmer than Sydenham) rising to a high of 6 mid-afternoon, which is when the heavy rain starts. I am afraid that if there is any frost in Sydenham at 07:45, when I have to set out, that I shall be a no-show.

Regards
Chris J.

ATTENTION all Aircrew!

Given the predicted meteorological conditions over the target area for Sunday, all flights are grounded.

As of now, this mission is non-operational. I repeat, non-operational.

End of signal.

Of course, if any of those nutters who reckon riding in the rain is the business, feel free to initiate a ride for the rest of their fellow thinkers!!

A good call, Geoff. Although it looks as if the frost will be less severe than predicted earlier in the week, the heavy rain and strong winds are now set to start mid-morning rather than mid-afternoon. I am saddened because I am desperate for a ride. I cannot go out today because a fox has chewed through one of the cables for our electric gates, and fixing that is a high priority for a period when it is not raining.

Regards
Chris J.

Can't argue with the logic, but still disappointed. :(

I haven't been out on my road bike for ages, so splashing about in the puddles & getting slightly moist has some appeal.

Shame. Was hoping to join you. Have been out on the bike recently as the heated vest sees me ok and my wet gear seems to work well. However it doesn't make the best ride out in strong winds and gusting rain so good call. Let hope that the weather is kinder to us for the Feb ride . x

Couldn't' t resist and went for a ride today even though I'd cleaned the bike yesterday, not too long but enjoyable. Got Sealskin gloves for Christmas and these are the only gloves to have kept my hands completely dry. Bike clean again ready for next wet and windy ride.
