Date: Sunday May 15th

Place : Pas de Calais. Northern France.

Travel details: Eurotunnel. Dep. Folkestone 08.20hrs Ret. Calais 17.36hrs (Cost currently £44 return)

A pleasurable day ride on t'other side. You will need to make your own Shuttle booking. Rendevous point will be the car park at Thurrock Services to leave at 06.45hrs via the M20 to the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone. From Calais the route tracks East on the equivalent of B roads for about 40 mins to the small town of Cassel where, there will be a leisurely drinks/croissant break :D From here we shall head West/South West to the coastal resort of Le Touquet where lunch will be taken. From Le Touquet the route wends it's way North, close to the coastline to Calais. Bon Voyage 8)

Some relevant information.
Passport required.
Breakdown and Insurance cover strongly recommended.
Passenger travel forward information to Eurotunnel..

I have also booked my crossing for the day. Since I live south of the Thames I intend to proceed directly to the terminal from home (that way I get an extra 30 minutes in bed!). Is the plan to fuel up before or after we make the crossing? In the event of problems on the day my mobile number is 07785302122.

Regards
Chris J.

I fancy a little bimble around the French lanes and so I'll be joining you, Geoff. See you bright and early at Thurrock services.

Many thanks to Geoff for organising this. Six of us on the run, so it we used the 'buddy' system. Fine morning, but it was chillier in France than the UK. Some variations on the usual route; let us call some of them 'interesting'. 150 French miles (or 240 kilometres if you want to be pedantic) and about 120 English ones. A few pictures have been posted.

Regards
Chris J.

Geoff. Thanks for organising the French trip. I know how much goes into planning any trip like this. I had a great day out.
