Thanks, I cant make it. On a run of marshalling cycling road races for the last/next few Sundays as part of my duties to the sport.

Richard - we went there last week and found out the café was closing that week - they had no info about it reopening - might be worth checking it out / another café - pubs are nice nearby

The chef probably found out we were coming, as he went into meltdown last year when we visited!

I'll be there, I'm sure Richard will have another plan if the cafe is shut

Thank you Richard and back markers for a lovely ride out. Good total distance (193 miles for me) and bends to make it feel worth while. A good pace with very respectful riding by all. Makes you feel alive doesn't it? Xxx

Returning to the club after a couple of years away I have to thank everybody I met today. You all made me feel really welcome & the route sorted by Richard was fantastic. Some of the best roads I've been on for a while. I shall definitely be seeing you next month.

Another very successful outing from Richard. South of the Thames the day started cold and wet, at Sainsbury's it was just cold. We had a creditable 25 bikes setting out. We lost a couple short of Finchingfield; one unlucky rider lost a bolt from his front brake assembly and the bodge with a cable-tie did not inspire confidence in an eventual successful emergency stop. He left to go back home with a friend riding shotgun. We stopped for coffee at the Whittlesford McDonalds. After that it was a Magic Journey through Potton to reach our destination. Normal cafe closed (look it up on TripAdvisor and you will see that this was probably a good thing) so we went to the activity centre instead. Much better. Temperature by now was 9C. Return journey via St Neots. Some excellent bendy bits on both legs of the journey. Jill marked on the way out, and Mick H. on the return journey. 170 miles in total. Apart from the lost bolt no known problems. Pictures have been posted.

Regards
Chris J.

Thanks Richard, it was a great day and being only my third ride this year (very unusual for me) it was great to get back into 'group' riding. Superb and interesting route with some great roads; some familiar and better ones that I've not ridden before. Last but no means least, a great bunch of riders, even Spider!

Thanks Richard for another great day out and also to all our fellow riders for their company and courteous riding. Very enjoyable.
