I read recently that the cross-head screws on all Japanese bikes are not “Philips” or “Pozidrive” but “Japanese Industry Standard,(JIS)” and the screwdrivers for same are different to other cross-head drivers. This could explain why some screws are more difficult to remove than others! I have been looking on the internet but the only places I seem to be able to find JIS screwdrivers are in the USA, does anyone know where thay may be available closer to home? Also, this is new to me and I have had Japanese bikes for 30 years, can anybody throw any light on the silence about JIS in motorcycle publications?

Here's a link to a US supplier's site which give some more information.
