I was delighted to meet recently with Angela Byrne, Events Co-ordinator for Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT), so I could pass on to the charity a £500 donation from EAMG.
EAMG members will appreciate that motorcyclists are a higher risk category of road user so understand the importance of the lifesaving service provided by EHAAT and have always been keen to support the charity.
EHAAT doesn’t have access to National Lottery funding and receives limited support from Government so relies upon the generosity of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational.
EAMG have regularly supported EHAAT by attending the May and September Motorcycle Run and Family Shows. We have also made regular donations of money raised by our own Slow Riding events. Due to the coronavirus pandemic none of the aforementioned events were able to take place last year but the EAMG committee voted to make a donation to EHAAT as we know they are providing such a valuable service, the importance of which isn’t lessened by the pandemic.
Our donation was gratefully received by EHAAT, especially during this strange time when they have limited sources of revenue.
