Re: Associate/Full Member Social Ride 27th October, 2019

Thanks echoed. A crisp and sunny day with 25 bikes. No incidents apart from Sandra toppling her bike when stationary (no real delay) and younger members used to fuel injection who were not aware that carburettors leak petrol when not vertical and thus assumed the worst (longer delay). Meal at La Hog...

Re: Full member ride Sunday 20 October 2019

Yes, the day did not quite go as anticipated, 14 bikes on a day which was dry but horribly cold. The lowest temperature I saw was 4C, and the bike flashed an ice warning at me. We ended up lunching at the usual cafe in Sudbury, and the total ride distance was 66 miles. I acted as back marker; a larg...

Re: Full Member Social Ride - Oundle - Sunday 13 October

Thanks for the info, Richard, I was in France at the time. Spider kindly sent me a ride review, with pictures, to my mobile. His account is a little more ... dramatic ... than yours!

Re: Full Member Social Ride - Beccles - Sunday 1st September

Richard, I am afraid that your mobile number seems to have vanished from my phone contacts; weird since all the others seem to transfer OK when I change phones. Tried texting and phoning Mick. I actually went through Worlingham on my return journey; more by accident than design. Didn't venture onto ...

Re: Full Member Social Ride - Beccles - Sunday 1st September

Ideal riding weather, sunny but not too hot, and about 28 bikes. Mick Hewitt tailing. Superb 80 mile route out to the Waterfront Diner; Richard excelled himself there. What it was like after that I do not know since I got sucked into following 3 bikes which had mingled with our group onto the A14. N...

Re: John & Audrey's Cotswolds Ride - Sunday 25th August

I made it 26 people, 234 miles and 33.5C, but within the limits of experimental error the same as John's numbers! It certainly was a brilliant day and all the meticulous route research seemed to pay off since there seemed no sign of anything going wrong. The cafe was good. Many thanks to John, Audre...

Hi Chris, as promised I've written some editorial for the mag. What is the correct email address to sent it to?
Best,
Vince.
Many thanks, Vince.

Re: Second Full Member Social Ride - Diss - Sunday 18 August

Ten bikes. Contrast this with the 20+ on Mick and Alan's run! Weather OK until the stop at the Stradishall Cafe, when unforecast rain came down and persisted until just short of Diss. Morrison's is hardly a fast food outlet, but one Stalwart elected to have the Big Daddy breakfast. Never before has ...

Re: Full Member Social Ride - Sizewell - Sunday 4 August

A great day. 22 bikes (one with pillion). Excellent weather. Trip out to Sudbury fine, except for Jill who was stung on the neck by a wasp shortly before the Tea Stop. One down. Almost immediately after Sudbury the final 3 bikes failed to notice (all 3 of them, strange that) a right marker and, to m...
