Re: Associate/Member Social Ride 20th June
Thoroughly enjoyed the ride, which included some roads unfamiliar to me. Excellent way of getting used to the bike again after well over a year of virtual disuse, Thanks to Mick & Alan.

T.U.G. Secember 2020 / February 2021 issue
Because of my wife's illness the December 2020 issue was delayed, and has just now appeared in the additional guise of 'February 2021'. https://issuu.com/chrisj1948/docs/tug_web_dec_2020 The continuing restrictions mean that is a substantial re-hash of previous articles. Please send me some new mater...

T.U.G. August 2020 issue
The August 2020 issue of T.U.G. is now available online at: https://issuu.com/chrisj1948/docs/tug_web_aug_2020 With the continuing suspension of most Group activity this contains many 'historical' articles. Please help me by contributing something for the October issue. There is a limit to what I ca...

The June 2020 issue of T.U.G. is now available online at: https://issuu.com/chrisj1948/docs/tug_web_jun_2020 The printed version will not appear until Group Nights resume. In the absence of any Group activity (and anything sent to me for publication - shame on you all") there is a lot of 'histo...

Re: How is Everyone?
My wife and I have discovered a new use for my collection of neck tubes, which were languishing unused.. They make excellent improvised face masks. If only we had some guns we could rob a stagecoach or two!

Re: How is Everyone?
One advantage of being largely retired, after working from home for 15 years, is that lockdown does not inspire me to do work around the house which I have been successfully avoiding for years. I have developed indolence into an art form. A few hours of weeding and tidying in the garden have been mo...

Re: Electrical charging
Not sure what happened on the run. For general information, because of the problems turning over the KTM on cold mornings, I always carry a compact boost battery and leads in my top box. Powerful enough to get an HGV started (they say). Works well for bikes.

Re: Full Member Social Ride - St Ives Sunday 1st March
23 bikes. Cold and windy (3.5C early, 7.5C for most of the ride, and a tropical 9.5C at St Ives). Fine day, but a lot of surface water and grit which had been washed onto the roads. Unusual route out (I need to look at a map and try to work out what Richard did). Liver, bacon and onions at the Local...

Re: Full Member Social Ride - Rushbrooke -Sunday 2 February
it started as a grey day, although the rain had stopped when 11 of us set out (10 bikes and a pillion). The temperature was 10C and rising. Richard told us he was using major roads to Thaxted. He knew what was coming and wanted us to generate some commitment. After that it was a complicated and inge...
