Re: Full Member Ride 17th October
Initially rather overcast, with a few spots of rain on the outward leg. Ten bikes, one with pillion. Excellent mix of roads, some of which were damp. Comedy highlights of the outward run were a marker mixup at Finchingfield, which fortunately sorted itself out, and Spider's decision near Bedford to ...

Re: T.U.G. October 2021
I have sent you various things about rides but never seen them in the mag? That is not completely true. I have included verbatim sections that you have written in Events Reports. If you send stuff to my phone then it is challenging to get the text directly over to my computer, and so I merely préci...

Re: Associate/Member Social ride 29th August
15.5 bikes (Joe's Indian counts as one and a half!). Cool overcast start developed into quite a nice day. As to the route; I sometimes feel as if Mick has cut Essex into square miles, mixed them up, and then laid them back again at random. Individual places and roads are familiar, but their relation...

Re: Audrey and John's Ride to the Cotswolds 2021
A very successful day with only about 10 minutes of rain. 15 bikes (two with pillions) and two groups led by John and Audrey. Outward leg bedevilled by local road closures, at one of which we were directed by workmen along a road whose exit was blocked by bollards. Most bikes were slim enough to get...

I would be happy to sweep for you, John. I shall not be offended if you find someone better (or with a radio)!

Re: Full members ride 15th August
Thoroughly enjoyed it. 16 bikes, 2 with pillions, and quite a few roads previously unknown to me on the outward leg; the return was a little more conventional apart from the stretch of goat track south of Needham where we met the Tesco van. We had the predicted short band of light rain, but weather ...

Re: Full Member Ride 18th July
Colin, I have a suspicion that many full members have ridden little during the pandemic period, and are a little cautious about the pace expected for a full member ride. This was certainly the case for me, and so for the last two rides have chosen Mick and Alan's relaxed ride. You will have noticed ...

Re: *Destination update*Associate/Member Social Ride Sunday 18th July
Thanks from me too. Nice selection of roads and the pace was right for someone who has ridden little in the last 18 months. The bike is starting to feel more natural again. The ride was not nearly as epic as the journey back home. 10 miles of filtering on the M25, which was locked solid, a mistake s...
