Richard Thomson 'Mongoose'

Post by Jill »

Hello Everyone
It is with sadness I have to pass on the details of the death of one of our long term members.
Richard Thomson better known to us as Mongoose was killed in a motorcycle accident in Yorkshire on 28th August.
Below is from a work colleague, further details will follow, I'm sure we can help to give him a memorable send off.

Funeral will be on Wednesday 29th at 11.20am at the crematorium on Sutton Road in Southend On Sea.
More details will follow, Jan wants the biggest send off for Richard as possible.
As many bikes as possible and as many people are welcomed.
Only 200 people can go inside which is set aside for family and close friends.
The Wake will be at Rayleigh Golf Club where absolutely everyone may attend.
Could I ask you to spread this news as far and wide as possible please.
Details of the procession route will be given later as some details can be arranged later.
Just need to get the date, time and place out there as soon as possible for people to arrange things.
No flowers please, all donations to charity on the day as being cremated most flowers are thrown away

Hi Jill. I'm sure that Lee and I like many others would like to attend. Do we have a time and place to meet on Wednesday?

Sorry for the late information, this is the information I have.
Meet at BMW garage at 10.30 and wait there to join procession as detailed below, unless you have been invited by family please do not enter the crematorium for the service.

From work colleague...
I'm escorting the hurse with 20 selected bikes to Richard's house from the funeral directors around 10.15am.
We shall meet at Richard's house about 10.30am.
To aid with traffic flow, we have asked for most bikers to meet up at the BMW dealership garage on the Southend bound A127.
There's plenty of parking alone this route.
As we pass by (approx 11am) please join behind the procession.
Police will be assisting with traffic junctions etc to aid with the procession flow.
I've been told there's 200 spaces inside for family and close friends.
Everyone is welcomed.
I hear that we are all welcomed to the Rayleigh Golf Club for the wake.
