M6 Toll

Post by John_Murphy »

Recently, I had to make a couple of trips to the north west and used M6 Toll for both journeys. The toll booths no longer issue a receipt, one has to go online to access and they take a day or two to appear. For each journey, the system over-charged me for one leg of the trip, to the tune of an extra £5, because it mis-identified my vehicle as a car, not a bike.
You can only find this out by going online to see the receipt and then you have to contact their customer services to arrange a refund - all a bit of a pain!
So, if you use M6 Toll, check your receipt to make sure you have not been over-charged. (I bet it never happens that one is under-charged!!)

Thanks for the info. I often wonder if the toll booths in France can detect the difference between car and bike too?
