Associate/Member Social Ride Sunday 16th October

Post by Mick Hewitt »

Hi all.
October's social ride is to Waresley Park garden centre cafe, Potton.

Destination: Waresley Park. SG19 3DB.
Meet: Sainsbury's Springfield (CM2 5PA).
Time: 09:00 for 09:30 prompt departure.
Full tank of fuel.
Distance: About 110 miles total.
Finish at MacD Regiment Way for coffee - about 14:30.
Note: Toilets are at the BP garage Boreham interchange.

Please check your machine is fully checked:
POWERSBEST:
PETROL - full tank for journey.
OIL - check engine/brake fluid levels. Also look for oil leaks.
WATER - check coolant level.
ELECTRICS - check all lights operate / horn / warning lights.
RUBBER - check TYRE pressures as advised in your manual. Check tread depth - law says 1mm (on wear tab) around the whole circumference. Note: plan to change before this as the braking/grip levels reduce drastically as the tyre reaches the minimum legal requirement.
STEERING - check no fouling of cables side to side.
BRAKES - Check pads for wear, or ask your observer if your unsure.
EQUIPMENT - check box/panniers secure and no straps hanging.
SUSPENSION - check the legs for leaks - look for oil film near seals. Visual check on rear.
TRANSMISSION - engine oil also lubricates gearbox - in nearly all cases. CHECK YOUR CHAIN - IT MUST BE LUBRICATED AND ADJUSTED CORRECTLY AND ALSO FIT FOR PURPOSE. Any doubts visit your bike shop or ask an observer.

Looking forward to it.

Another great ride out with a good bunch of people. Thanks Mick, Alan and Dave for back marking on the way back.
Let's hope the weather is just as great for Colins ride on the 30th. I'll try to be a good boy.

Today’s October's social ride to Waresley Park garden centre cafe, Potton.

As chairman of EAMG I have to say I was bowled over by the turnout for today’s lovely ride. Apparently we had 23 bikes, but it looked like more to me. These rides do not happen by themselves, it takes a lot of effort to plan the route, plan the food stops for us hungry riders, get tail end Charlie’s sorted, and give up valuable time. So to all those that made it happen in the past, and future ,please take a bow, we salute you.

It was really lovely to see everyone having a great natter, and if I may say so myself, the standard of riding all round was something to be proud of. A great advert of what we do and why.

From a very proud EAMG member, THANKYOU.

Best

I'm always shocked Michel of the lack of thanks left on here after all of the hard work the guys put into these rides. 23 bikes and only a couple of messages. Come on boys and girls lets show a bit of appreciation.
